FMVR LAB – Laboratory of Photogrammetry and Virtual Reality (FCE CTU) Three-dimensional (3D) mapping and modelling and spatial and optical analysis are important state-of-the-art methods for documentation and digital preservation of heritage objects and archaeological sites. FMVR LAB is the largest university workplace in the Czech Republic capable of carrying out heritage documentation and visualisation, with particular and widely sought expertise in modern methods of geomatics (laser scanning, mobile laser scanning, digital photogrammetry and remote sensing, remotely piloted aircraft system – RPAS, geophysical mapping, hyperspectral non-invasive sensing of paintings and frescoes, vault 3D models, structural deformation, etc.), GIS, historical cartography, multispectral and hyperspectral sensing. To this end, it operates all necessary instruments, including geodetic total station and GNSS devices, four different types of 3D laser scanners, two types of 3D printers, five RPASs with pilot license from the Civil Aviation Authority, geophysical instruments (magnetometer and ground penetrating radar with three types of antennas).
