ITAM’s Mobile laboratory for in situ investigations or in emergency situations is located in a 4×4 vehicle equipped with a rich set of diagnostic tools for the analysis of the physical and mechanical properties of various materials and structures. It has been upgraded with several unique tools recently developed at ITAM, including a micro-jack which enables the measurement of the mechanical characteristics of wood in real structures in situ and at various depths below the surface (CZ patent).
